Gardenia Blossom

The alluring gardenia blossom has played quite the symbolic role in our collective history. In a rather contradictory tale, the gardenia is known to be both a symbol of risqué culture and an ode to long-gone notions of innocence and purity. Iconic jazz singer Billie Holiday was known to pin gardenias in her hair before performing—symbolizing the new era of “racy” music and the dawn of an exciting age. This was in stark contrast to the Victorian imagination, which envisioned the flower as a symbol of traditional refinement and virtue.

Fig

Deliciously succulent and slightly milky—the fragrant note of fig is just as divine as the fruit itself. This note is rather contradictory: bitter green, woody facets mingle with quintessentially fig-like notes of ripe, sickly-sweet dimensions. A creamy blend with earthy qualities, this note is often used in green compositions or in tandem with fruity, coconut accords reminiscent of a summer holiday.

Rose

The bedrock of perfumery, roses are inextricably linked to the fragrances we’ve come to know and love. In fact, rose comprises more than 400 known constituents, with a variety of reconstructions across every price point. Its scent is powerful and rich, with floral and fruity facets of contrast: sweet yet spicy, green yet honeyed. Rose is often described as a feminine note with floral, powdery facets.

Jasmine

Jasmine, the ever-popular heart note, is highly desired and extensively used in perfumery. A fragrance chameleon, jasmine is delightfully versatile: transparent and luminous as a top note, and surprisingly animalistic and sensual as a smooth base note. Its suave, heady characteristics combine in an intoxicating wave of rich tenacity. Perfectly balancing femininity and masculinity, jasmine emits an unmistakably powerful scent that is both floral and fruity.

Grapefruit

A delightfully uplifting, summery scent, grapefruit is known for adding its characteristically sharp, fresh notes to citrus fragrances. Sparkling and vibrant, grapefruit has a slightly bitter undertone that sets it apart from other hesperidic fruits. It is an elegant, energetic scent often used as a top note to add a refreshing burst of life to juicy accords.
